Book Discussion Series: Intro and Giveaway

Book Discussion Series: Intro and Giveaway

EverydayScribe now has a Book Discussion Series. I hope you read the first of the series which featured The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi.

I selected The Complete Persepolis as the first book of the series for two reasons. It was my introduction to a new genre of literature, so I thought it would be perfect as the introductory book for this series. As one of the most challenged books, this selection continues the theme of Banned Books Week. A week devoted to promoting our right to read and protecting our intellectual freedom. Though the week is over, it is a battle fought all year.

This series will be more than a traditional book review. Posts in this series will provide an honest review and offer discussion points. These points might include observations about the content, connections to other works, and/or questions to help facilitate a deeper reading. The questions and observations I provide will be completely spoiler-free.

You can count on at least one Book Discussion per month. I would love to hear any suggestions you have for future posts!

Don’t miss out on anything new from EverydayScribe by signing up to receive the newsletter today. As an added bonus, if you sign up by the end of day October 19, 2015, you will be entered into a book giveaway. You could own your very own copy of The Complete Persepolis. To show my appreciation those of you who already subscribe to my newsletter, please comment on this post or send me a note through my Contact Me! page to be included in the giveaway.

Once a recipient is selected, I will send an email to find out where to mail your book. Unfortunately, I must limit this giveaway to addresses in the United States.

If you have never read a graphic novel before, here is your chance! I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Happy reading!
